Office Accountant and Administrator

What you will be doing in this role!
In this role you will be working a consistent 5 days per week on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Garden Centre Administration. THIS IS accounting mixed with administration. You will be responsible for:
• Inventory SKU Management
• Accounts Payable
• Order entry
• Billing
• Collections
• Customer service
• Prepare presentation sheets for various meetings
• Various administrative and office tasks as required
What you should ideally bring to this role!
This role requires an individual to take Ownership of the accounting and administrative functions of the business. You will be encouraged to launch new ideas and streamline processes. If this is you and you have;
• A minimum of 1 to 2 year of experience in accounts payable/accounting or a similar role in a retail environment
• Office administration
• Intermediate to advanced skills for Microsoft office; Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience working with an accounting software systems
• Certificate in bookkeeping, accounting or business administration is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills are an asset.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills and extend knowledge
• Strong customer service skills are an asset
• Proven team player with ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven and result oriented environment
• Independent, organized individual with ability to prioritize and multi-task

Landscape Design/Project Manager

We are currently looking for a talented, innovative and creative Landscape Designer/Project Manager to join our team. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, who works well in a team and a fast paced environment. The successful individual will work closely with both the owner and garden centre manager in managing the Landscape Design/Build division of a successful garden centre.
This position requires strong design, selling and project management skills.
Candidates must be thoroughly versed in all aspects of residential landscape design and construction with excellent plant knowledge. You will assist in the strategic planning and will be responsible for the landscape design/build division.
You will be required to:
• Prepare accurate site surveys which include thorough site inventory and analysis
• Prepare computer generated landscape designs and presentations
• Create project estimations and quotations
• Sell projects to clients
• Provide project scheduling and on-site supervision
Qualifications:
• Candidates must possess a certificate or diploma in Landscape Design.
• Extensive working knowledge of Dynascape
• Experience in both design and construction
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills that develop strong rapport and working relationships with customers.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office, Word and Excel
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain meticulous records

Landscape Installer

We are currently looking for a talented, innovative and creative Landscape Installer to join our team. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, who works well in a team and fast paced environment. The successful individual will possess a strong work ethic, ability to work independently and have total pride in workmanship. Our company has an enviable project list for the 2011 season. You will develop your skills both from a business and technical perspective.
Candidates must be thoroughly versed in all interlock, natural stone and plant installation. You will be a key person in our landscape design/build division.
You will be required to:
• Layout and prepare installation site
• Operate power equipment (such as cutsaws, backhoes and bobcats)
• Install hardscape features (including retaining walls, paving stones and ponds) and plant material.
• Maintain a professional service to our customers.
• Prepare daily production reports
Qualifications:
• Experience in all elements of hardscape construction
• A valid G driver’s license in good standing. All successful candidates must provide a current drivers abstract.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Neat appearance and strong customer service skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 - 75 lbs. frequently 8 - 10 hours a day
• Must be able to push/pull 50 - 250 lbs
• Must be able to perform frequent bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain meticulous records

Assistant Manager - Retail

This is an “in command" position. Job responsibilities include managing direct reports, maximizing promotions and sales performance, providing store-wide control of inventory, exhibiting day to day leadership within the store and developing and implementing local market initiatives.
Your job is very fast paced and provides variety through the seasons. You have excellent customer service and teamwork skills. The job specifications are:
• Maximizes individual and team potential of direct reports by establishing clear performance expectations and standards, providing constructive feedback, coaching and training.
• Provides input into the development of the annual operations budget.
• Maintains integrity to the inventory management system, monitors inventory adjustment procedures with respect to cash, sales, waste, theft, identifies the problem areas, takes and/or recommends corrective actions.
• Resolves customer problems by investigating and taking corrective action.
• Ensures work is conducted in compliance with health and safety policy and legislation.
• Assumes the duties of the Store Manager in their absence.
Qualifications:
o Secondary Education: College or University
o Minimum of 1-year of retail managerial experience.

Nursery Supervisor

• Work with suppliers to order and source inventory requirements
• Maintains inventory stock levels, integrity to the inventory management system, monitors inventory adjustment procedures with respect to sales, waste, theft, identifies the problem areas, takes and/or recommends corrective actions.
• Daily maintenance as required.
• Assist customers with plant selection, disease and pest control.
• Resolves customer problems by investigating and taking corrective action.
• Assumes the duties of the Store Manager in their absence.
Experience with equipment including forklifts, tractors, and power equipment required. Candidates must have strong plant knowledge. Landscape and Disease & Pest Management experience is beneficial.
Qualifications:
o Secondary Education: College or University - Horticultural
o Minimum of 3 year of retail managerial experience.
